How to Begin and Save a New Program in VCS

VEX Coding studio has been discontinued and is no longer available for download. Already downloaded? The program will continue to function but will no longer be supported.
Users who transition to VEXcode can migrate their C++/C++ Pro projects to VEXcode Text by following this article.

Step 1: Launch Vex Coding Studio (VCS) and select the desired language

  • After selecting the desired language, click "Choose".

If there is already a file open:

  • Click on the Expand Arrow next to the project name and select "New".

Step 2: Click on the downward facing "Expand Arrow"

  • Click on the expand arrow to open the drop down menu.

NOTE: The expand arrow is highlighted by a red arrow in the above image.

Step 3:  Name the file

  • Click in the "Project Name" box and name your file.
  • Click Save.

NOTE: This same step applies to both Mac and Windows PC.

Step 4: Save the file

For Mac:

  • Select the location for where to save the new file.
  • Click Save again.

For Windows:

  • Select the location for where to save the new file.
  • Click Save again.
